This socket has been designed to complement the
3/4" B.S.P. (British Standard Pipe) Impact Sprinkler designed by Irrigation Systems Ltd. It connects the Sprinkler to the irrigation standpipe. The unique design ensures easy, effective installation and no water leakage.
The Sprinkler Socket is specifically designed to ensure the sprinkler spindle does not foul the sides of the socket. The design allows space for the spindle to rotate unhindered and the sprinkler to work freely.
Many people use a galvanised pipe socket for a standpipe socket. These were never originally designed for use as a sprinkler socket and very often the sprinkler is prevented from turning by the use of these sockets and the sprinkler itself is wrongly blamed for not rotating. Water seal reliant on the threads alone result in leaks and over tightening in an effort to stop the leaks. Please use the matched socket and sprinkler.
Two types of Irrigation Systems Ltd Sprinkler Sockets are manufactured from tough A.B.S. plastic material:
Threaded 3/4" B.S.P. to 1" B.S.P. for metal threaded standpipes.
Threaded 3/4" B.S.P. to 33mm O.D. (Outside diameter) solvent cent socket for P.V.C. standpipes. 33mm O.D. is the thread size of 1" B.S.P. pipe.
Alternatives are:
1/2" B.S.P to 1"B.S.P metal standpipes
1/2" B.S.P to 33m solvent pipes P.V.C. standpipe
Special Order:
We have available for special order a 32mm O.D. to fit standard pvc pipe sizes.

Attach the plastic socket to the threaded standpipe using a standard 32mm socket spanner. This system is unique and vastly improves the method for screwing the sprinkler socket onto the standpipe.
Do not use an adjustable 'Monkey Wrench' to tighten the socket on to the standpipe
The socket is simply tightened by hand, avoid over tightening, squashing and breakage due to the enthusiastic use of a monkey wrench and other tools.
The flat top sealing surface of the Irrigation Systems Ltd Sprinkler Socket provides superb sealing capabilities, ensuring no leaks occur.
